Hemel Hempstead Town Cricket Club

Welcome

Following advice from the UK government and the England and Wales Cricket Board in relation to Covid-19, all cricket and member activities at Hemel Hempstead Town Cricket Club are suspended until further notice. But please do get in touch with us using links on relevant pages if you have any queries about cricket or event hires for when we reopen.

Update on 18th May 2020

Following the easing of some lockdown regulations, the club’s General Committee has been looking at whether we are in a position to put the nets up and then manage the use of them. Unfortunately, for now, it is clear that we are not in a position to do so.

Although clubs are allowed to have nets open, there are very strict ECB requirements for how that must be done if clubs choose to open. Essentially, those requirements can only be met if clubs have full control of their grounds, which we do not.

Running a booking system as required and controlling use on a very public site are difficult enough. However, even more than that, the ECB requires clubs to have a representative on site at all times when the nets are open. This is not possible to do other than at very limited times, and we would not be able to close the nets at times when we could not police their use.

We are going to review the situation in the middle of June which would be a month before a possible league start date of 11th July.

Hemel Hempstead Town Cricket Club is a family orientated cricket and social club catering for all ages and abilities. Established in 1850, we can boast nearly 170 years of  sporting heritage and we have  strong ties to the local community.

We run four Saturday sides and two Sunday sides, as well as having a thriving junior section (for boys and girls). Whatever your age, gender or ability, if you love cricket we can support you in your passion.

During the summer our senior teams train every Wednesday from 6.15pm, and these sessions are attended by fully qualified cricket coaches. We have four outdoor astroturf nets with two bowling machines.

Our junior teams are run by a mix of qualified coaches and others with extensive cricket experience.  For further details, see our Junior Cricket page.  Booking for the national ‘All Stars’ programme for 5-8 year old boys and girls, delivered at HHTCC, is now open here.

We are always very interested in meeting new players, social members and businesses to invite them to get involved with the cricket club.
